Congratulations, eager now to plan your wedding and say "I Do"!
Getting Married in Sydney and how do you book a marriage celebrant that offers ceremonies with style, grace and humour to conduct a ceremony that is uniquely yours and reflecting the power of your love.
"The wedding ceremony is for a day, a marriage is for a lifetime"
Booking a Celebrant
It is important that you chose a celebrant that you feel comfortable with their personality, most important a professional celebrant that has conducted hundreds of ceremonies and has years of experience, so please book early as soon as you have a date, time and venue chosen.
How long does a ceremony go for?
Generally the ceremony goes for approximately 30 minutes but this can depend on the varying styles and inclusions, photos while signing the marriage certificate.
Where can we get married?
It's your choice whether at parks, gardens, home, golf courses, function centres, wedding venues, restaurants.
Wording for Our Ceremony?
Yes you may chose to include any wording you feel reflects your beliefs such as non religious, spiritual or religious reading/prayer by chosen guest, your way of life, your own written poems or marriage vows. As your Celebrant I will ask you to declare your intent by saying:
"Iam Gone, will you take Ican Hardlywait to be your lawful wife, will you love her, comfort her, honour and keep her, in sickness and in health, and forsaking all others, keep only unto her, so long as you both shall live?" Reply: "Yes I Do!"
Vows are the most emotionally expressed words to each other on your wedding day. After the legal vows then say your own personally chosen vows such as:
"I stand here today to join my life with yours in the hopes and dreams that our love will last forever, I promise to always speak the truth, to remain faithful to you throughout the struggles and share the joys and pleasures by each other's side, to wake in your arms with confidence of your love and blessed to be your wife. I love you and will hold you in my heart for eternity."
What are the legal vows?
I call upon the persons here present to witness that I Iam Gone(name of Groom as on your Birth Certificate) take thee, Ican Hardlywait (name of Bride as on your Birth Certificate) to be my lawful wedded wife.
Pre-marital Courses/Pre-nupitals do we need to attend?
No! Beginning your new life together may already exist but changing the scenario of becoming husband and wife will change both legally and emotionally. You do not have to attend any course information however I offer brochures with Relationship Education Information.
You may also consider consulting your solicitors in regards to drawing up a pre-nupital agreement which are now legally binding in Australia. Your free will and choice!
